Tougnette 6-seater chairlift on schedule to open for this winter.

Work is proceeding apace on the new 6-seater Tougnette chairlift with the main pylon sections airlifted into position by helicopter and bolted together, ready for the brackets, rollers and finally the cable itself.  As many readers will know, Meribel Alpina has decided, after consulting skiers themselves to replace the top section of the Tougnette telecabin with a 6-seater, de-clutchable chairlift.  Not only will this speed up the trip to the top and thus into the Belleville Valley, but will also spare skiers and boarders the chore of removing their equipment and carrying it up the steps!

The top station has been moved slightly and the piste at the top of the Combe de Tougnette remodelled to include a gentler gradient to make it more accessible to a wider range of skier and boarder.  You will still be able to enjoy the fabulous views from the top and from the lift itself.

Transfer times: The expected completion of the A41 Nord autoroute spur between Annecy and Geneva this year should speed up Geneva airport transfers, hopefully by as much as half an hour.
